Building permits decrease in Turkey in January-September

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the number of buildings authorized by building permits from municipalities in Turkey in the first nine months of the current year decreased to 67,075, down 8.3 percent from 73,157 registered during the same period of the previous year.

In January-September period of this year, the value of the buildings in question increased by 3.3 percent year on year, while the total number of apartments authorized by building permits decreased to 429,397, down 8.1 percent from 467,384 units in the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, in the period in question, the number of buildings given occupancy permits by municipalities in Turkey increased by 24.1 percent compared to the same period last year.
