Building permits in Turkey up 11.9 percent in 2013

The number of buildings authorized by building permits from municipalities in Turkey in 2013 increased to 116,525, up 11.9 percent from 104,151 in the previous year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

In 2013, the value of the buildings in question increased by 15.6 percent year on year to TRY 121.34 billion ($55.22 billion), while the total number of apartments authorized by building permits increased to 814,031, up 8.4 percent from 2012.

Meanwhile, last year the number of buildings given occupancy permits by municipalities in Turkey increased by 24.1 percent year on year to 117,619 buildings.
