According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the number of buildings authorized by building permits from municipalities in Turkey in the first six months of the current year decreased to 40,186, down 18.1 percent from 49,080 registered during the same period of the previous year.
In January-June period of this year, the value of the buildings in question declined by 7.8 percent year on year, while the total number of apartments authorized by building permits decreased to 254,344, down 15.7 percent from 301,641 units in the same period of the previous year.
