In May this year, the output volume of Great Britain's construction industry decreased by 1.3 percent month on month, following a month-on-month decrease of 0.8 percent in April, and rose by 1.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, constituting the 24th consecutive year-on-year increase, according to a report released by the UK-based Office for National Statistics (ONS). In May, new work fell by 1.5 percent, while repair and maintenance decreased by one percent, both month on month.
New construction orders in Great Britain in the March-May period of this year were estimated to have increased by 2.7 percent compared to the same three months a year ago, and fell by 0.4 percent compared to the December 2014- February period. In the March-May period of this year, all new work decreased by 1.7 percent and repair and maintenance increased by 1.8 percent, both compared to the previous three months.
