Brazil’s semi-finished iron and steel exports up 36% in 2011

According to the statistics provided by Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, in 2011 Brazil's semi-finished iron and steel product exports amounted to 7.2 million mt, rising 36.4 percent compared to 2010. The revenue generated by these exports came to $4.64 billion, up 78.89 percent from the year-ago figure.

Meanwhile, Brazil's flat steel exports in 2011 totaled 2.2 million metric tons, falling by 7.21 percent year on year, with the revenue generated by these exports coming to $2 billion, up 10.87 percent over the 2010 level.
