Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 35.61 million mt in September this year, increasing by 31.3 percent compared to August and up 7.7 percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in September totaled $1.27 billion, increasing by 30.3 percent compared to the previous month, but down 43.1 percent year on year.
In September, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 991,700 mt, increasing 22.5 percent compared to the previous month and up 21.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $303.3 million, increasing by 20.3 percent compared to August and down 25.8 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in September Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 416,400 metric tons, increasing 8.4 percent from August and up 73 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $203.2 million, increasing by 5.5 percent month on month and up 21.5 from the September 2014 level.
