Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 27.12 million mt in August this year, decreasing by 20.5 percent compared to July and down four percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in August totaled $971.3 million, decreasing by 28.86 percent compared to the previous month and down 49.1 percent year on year.
In August, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 790,100 mt, decreasing 14.78 percent compared to the previous month and up 48.77 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $252.2 million, decreasing by 12.2 percent compared to July and down 7.7 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in August Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 384,100 metric tons, increasing 3.2 percent from July and up 197.6 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $192.7 million, increasing by 3.47 percent month on month and up 75.66 from the August 2014 level.
