Brazil's
Stainless Steel Development Association expects the country's
stainless steel
consumption to increase 4-5 percent this year.
Stainless steel
consumption in
Brazil amounted to 232,000 tons last year and 226,000 tons in 2004.
Brazil's economy and the expansion of the sugar and ethanol industries, which use the special steel, will contribute to this year's increase in
stainless steel
consumption.
