Brazil's motor vehicle exports down 40.5 percent in Jan from Dec

Brazil's motor vehicle output in January this year increased by 2.9 percent from the previous month and decreased by 18.7 percent year on year to 237,491 units (excluding agricultural vehicles), according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea).

New motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) in Brazil totaled 312,618 units in January this year, decreasing by 11.7 percent month on month and increasing by 0.4 percent year on year. 20.7 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles.

Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in January this year (excluding agricultural vehicles) totaled 25,779 units, decreasing by 40.5 percent compared to the previous month and down 28.9 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in January the revenue generated by motor vehicle exports (excluding agricultural vehicles) fell 26 percent month on month to $886.2 million, decreasing by 13.3 percent year on year.
