Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 39.5 million mt in December last year, rising by 41.1 percent compared to November and up 5.65 percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in December totaled $1.27 billion, increasing by 41.5 percent compared to the previous month and down 36.02 percent year on year.
In December, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 1.15 million mt, rising 135.4 percent compared to the previous month and up 105.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $305.9 million, increasing by 127.2 percent compared to November and up 14.06 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in December Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 294,100 metric tons, falling by 8.77 percent from November and down 11.1 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $139.9 million, rising by 1.67 percent month on month and down 36.6 percent from the December 2014 level.
