Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 30.01 million mt in October of the current year, falling by 12.2 percent compared to September and down by 12.1 percent compared to the same month of 2015, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in October totaled $1.11 billion, decreasing by 21.8 percent compared to the previous month and down 2.2 percent year on year.
In October, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 641,400 mt, narrowing by 21.8 percent compared to the previous month and down by 9.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $226.5 million, decreasing by 23.8 percent compared to September and up 3.2 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in October Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 153,100 metric tons, falling by 59.7 percent from September and down by 56.3 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $95 million, dropping by 95.5 percent month on month and down 94.4 percent from the October 2015 level.
