iron ore export volume amounted to 24.70 million mt in January this year, decreasing by 22.33 percent compared to December and up 0.2 percent compared to the same month of 2013, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.

Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 455,100 mt, increasing 20.84 percent compared to the previous month and down 24.38 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $228.4 million, increasing 17.01 percent compared to December and down 23.41 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in January
Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 203,000 metric tons, increasing 59.22 percent from December and down 3.1 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $139.5 million, rising by 31.36 percent month on month and down 2.65 percent from the January 2013 level.
