Brazil’s GDP to decline 3.86 percent in 2016 and grow 0.5 percent in 2017

A report by Brazil’s central bank has adjusted an expected retraction in the nation’s GDP to 3.86 percent in 2016 from a previous estimate of a 3.89 percent decline in the indicator.

As for 2017, Brazil’s GDP should grow 0.5 percent, up from a previous 0.4 percent growth estimate.

Median expectations for the nation’s industrial sector were downgraded from a 5.83 percent decline in 2016 to a 5.95 percent decline in the current year. As for 2017, the industrial sector should grow 0.74 percent, up from a 0.5 percent growth estimate.
