Brazilian slab producer CSP starts up thermoelectric plant at mill complex

Brazilian slab producer Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem (CSP) was allowed to start up a thermoelectric plant, which is attached to its mill in the Pecem area in the state of Ceara.
 
A JV between Vale, Posco and Dongkuk, the steelmaker received the authorization from the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency, Aneel, on Friday in a filing published at the nation’s official gazette, Diario Oficial da Uniao (DOU).
 
According to the document filing, the thermoelectric is comprised of two units, one of 18,000 kilowatt (kW) and another of 100,000 kW.
 
The two units are attached to the company’s mill complex located in the city of Sao Goncalo do Amarante in the state of Ceara.
