Brazil’s chamber of foreign trade (Camex) has announced that it imposed an antidumping (AD) duty on chrome-added plate imports from China on August 31.

The investigation for the mentioned product was launched upon the complaint filed by Brazilian steelmaker Usiminas, alleging that imports of heavy plate with added chrome from China were being carried out in order to circumvent the antidumping measure applied to imports of heavy plates from the country. According to the circumvention review of Camex, the existence of circumvention practices was verified.

The dumping margin for the said product stands at $211.56/mt.

The product subject to antidumping duty falls under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Number 7225.40.90.
