Brazil’s chamber of foreign trade (Camex) has reduced the import tariff on over 240 items, including those from the autoparts, automotive and mining segments, it said on Tuesday. The decision was published in the Diario Oficial, Brazil’s official gazette.
These markets are among the segments that benefited most from the measure, it said, adding the tariff decreased from 14 percent to 2 percent.
The new import tariffs are valid until December 31, 2015.
Machines and equipment for the production of welded mesh and wires are among the items whose imports tariff will be reduced. The list also includes cold rolling machines of three blocks.
