Brazil has recently initiated an antidumping (AD) duty investigation on table, kitchen or other household articles of stainless steel exported from China and Brazil.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil, the period under consideration for analysis of evidence of dumping is from October 2009 to September 2010 and the period under consideration for analysis of damage caused by the alleged dumping is from October 2005 to September 2010. The items listed under 7323.93.00 in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) will be reviewed.

On May 26, 2010, Brazil-based company Farrukhabad Tramontina SA Metallurgical Industry, now Tramontina, filed the petition to initiate the antidumping investigation in question.

The preliminary findings calculated an antidumping margin and injury evidences, which led to the opening of the investigation by the Brazilian authorities.
