Brazil extends AD investigation on HRC imports from China and Russia

Brazil’s ministry of industry, foreign trade and services announced that effective May 20, 2017, it will extend its ongoing antidumping (AD) investigation over the imports of HRC from China and Russia.
 
According to the ministry, the products currently subject to the probe include flat finished steel products, both alloyed and non-alloyed, with a width equal or superior to 600mm, hot rolled, in plates, not coils, with a thickness less than 4.75mm, except for HRC products which can include any thickness.
 
The products currently subject to the investigation fall under the HS codes 7208.10.00, 7208.25.00, 7208.26.10, 7208.26.90, 7208.27.10, 7208.27.90, 7208.36.10, 7208.36.90, 7208.37.00, 7208.38.10, 7208.38.90, 7208.39.10, 7208.39.90, 7208.40.00, 7208.53.00, 7208.54.00, 7208.90.00, 7225.30.00 and 7225.40.90.
 
The Brazilian government released a schedule of expected steps before concluding the investigation. The probe phase should end by April 28, 2017, and the phase in which involved parties can issue opinions on the presented data will end May 18, 2017.
 
By June 19, 2017, the ministry should issue a technical note on the investigation and by July 10, 2017, the timeline for the interested parties to send their final comments will end. By July 31, 2017, the Brazilian government is expected to issue a determination.
