Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) is expected to increase HRC steel prices by 12.75 percent in late August, according to a media report.

The local producer expects to pass the price increase to all its clients in the domestic market, including distributors, as well as the industrial and automotive segments.

The 12.75 percent price increase for HRC is effective on August 25, and follows similar price hikes by competitors Usiminas and ArcelorMittal Brazil. Recently, ArcelorMittal Brazil announced an HRC price increase of 10 percent. Likewise, flats producer Usiminas rose the product’s price by 10.7 percent for its domestic distribution chain.
