Bontempi Vibo Spa, an Italian company based in Rodengo Saiano, Brescia and specialized in the production of carbon steel and stainless steel screws, has presented its 2010 financial results.
The company, which last year celebrated 50 years in business, earned a net profit of €3.657 million in 2010, with revenues of €33.985 million compared to €18.556 million in the previous year. This performance was due not only to the recovery of demand, but also to the containment of costs, relatively low financial burdens and a capital gain of €1.979 million from the sale of its former headquarters in Brescia. Its debt fell from €24.5 million to €23.4 million. In terms of production, in 2010 Bontempi Vibo produced 550 million of screws, totaling over 17,500 mt, returning to the pre-crisis levels of 2008.
As regards investments, last year Bontempi Vibo installed a giant multi-station horizontal press for the production of screws with diameters of 27-36 mm and lengths of up to 360 mm, at a cost of over €2 million.
This year Bontempi Vibo is investing more than €3 million in a new quenching and tempering furnace, supplied by Austrian company Aichelin, while it is investing €2 million in two new highly-automated packaging equipment items and in building renovation. In addition, in 2012 there are planned investments of further €5 million aimed at strengthening production capacity and reducing production costs.
