Bohler Welding inaugurates Indonesian production plant and sales center

Austrian steel company Voestalpine has announced that, following a major extension, PT Bohler Welding Group South East Asia of its subsidiary Bohler Welding Group has inaugurated its production plant and regional sales center in Cikarang, close to the Indonesian capital Jakarta. The production plant, which was established in 1997, has undergone a substantial expansion over the last six months, with the production area being more than doubled to over 4,000 square meters. The expansion has resulted in a substantial broadening of the product portfolio and in an increase in the production capacity for the manufacture of welding consumables to over 6,000 metric tons per year.
 
The production plant services customers in the Asia Pacific region as well as in the US, Middle East and Africa. In the medium term, the workforce in this production and sales center belonging to Bohler Welding Group is set to increase to more than 100 employees.
 
PT Bohler Welding Group has also expanded its regional sales center headquartered in Cikarang, Jakarta. Besides the extension of the sales office, a regional training and demonstration center has also been erected. With the objective to further strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia, PT Bohler Welding Group South East Asia, is opening sales offices in all major cities including Jakarta, Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, to cater to its customers with a broad range of high quality products and service-based solutions.
 
Bohler Welding Group, is one of the world's largest universal providers of welding consumables, for example for joint welding, repair welding and hard facing (coating) and is a world market leader in the field of high- and highest-alloy welding consumables. With a workforce of approximately 1,800 in eleven production plants in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico and Sweden, the group's sales for the business year 2008-09 amounted to approximately €530 million.
