Benxi Steel’s auto sheet sales volume rises 5.3 percent in 2011

Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Benxi Iron and Steel Co. (Benxi Steel) has announced that in 2011 its sales volume of steel sheet for the automotive industry registered a 5.3 percent year-on-year increase, covering supplies of cold rolled and galvanized auto sheet to a total of 28 carmakers. Meanwhile, Benxi Steel stated that it exported 4,000 mt of auto sheets to Iran-based SAIPA Automotive Manufacturing Group in the given year.
 
Benxi Steel also reported good cooperation in 2011 with major Chinese automobile producer FAW Group Corporation, supplying seven separate grades of cold rolled auto sheet to meet the requirements of FAW Group. In addition, in 2011 Benxi Steel's DP780 duplex high-strength cold rolled automotive stainless steel products were approved by South Korea's Hyundai Motor Co.
