Benxi Steel starts construction on high strength CR plate project

Liaoning Province-based Chinese steel producer Benxi Steel Group has announced that it has started construction work on its high strength cold rolled steel plate project at the group's Qiaobei plant.

The project, which is expected to cost a total investment of RMB 6 billion ($952.38 million), targets an annual production capacity of 2.2 million mt of high strength cold rolled steel plate with specifications of 0.3-2.5 mm x 800-2,150 mm, and will fill a gap for the products in question in China. The products are mainly used for high strength auto sheet, white goods and top grade deep punching auto sheet.
