Benxi Steel posts record low in comprehensive energy consumption

Benxi Iron and Steel Group, a steelmaker based in the northeastern Chinese province of Liaoning, has successfully lowered its comprehensive energy consumption per metric ton of steel produced to a record level of 722.6 kg of standard coal, down 113.4 kg of standard coal or 13.6 percent compared with the 2006 level.
