Studies have been commenced on the development of two iron ore deposits in Belarus, the Okolovsk and Novoselkovstk deposits, and are expected to be completed in the middle of the current year

According to the preliminary estimates, the iron ore reserves at the Okolovsk deposit stand at about 300 million metric tons.

Backed by the two deposits in question, Belarus is planning to create a raw material base for its largest steel producer Byelorussian Iron and Steel Works.
