Bekaert restructures operations in Chile, Peru and Canada

Kortrijk, Belgium-based Bekaert, one of the world's largest steel cord and wire manufacturers, announced Thursday that it has signed an agreement with its partners in Chile, Peru and Canada to restructure its joint wire manufacturing operations and consolidate the results of the joint ventures. Additionally, Bekaert will become the principal shareholder in the joint ventures, holding a 52 percent interest.

The operations that will be restructured include:

-Industrias Chilenas de Alambre - Inchalam SA in Talcahuano, Chile
-Prodalam SA in Santiago, Chile
-Acma SA in Santiago, Chile
-Acmanet SA in Santiago, Chile
-Wire Rope Industries Ltd. in Pointe-Claire, Canada
-Productos de Acero Cassado SA (Prodac) in Callao, Peru
-Procables SA in Callao, Peru
