Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Benxi Steel Group Co. has announced that in the January-April period of the current year its subsidiary Beiying Iron and Steel Co. booked export orders for a total of 642,000 mt of steel products, including 510,000 mt of wire rod. The export orders in question are worth RMB 208 million ($33.93 million), including RMB 195 million ($31.8 million) for wire rod.
In 2012, Beiying Steel exported 1.53 million mt of steel products, up 34.2 percent or 390,000 mt on year-on-year basis.
