BC Iron’s shipment up 20 percent in March quarter

Australian iron ore development company BC Iron Limited has announced that in the quarter ended on March 31 it produced 1.74 million mt of iron ore, up 84 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
 
During the March quarter, BC Iron shipped 1.46 million wet mt of iron ore from its Nullagine JV, increasing by 20 percent year on year. The company said that the March quarter falls in the Pilbara's wet season and the Nullagine JV experienced periods of wet weather which affected operations. Notwithstanding this, operational performance was strong with the targeted March quarter wet season annual run-rate of 4.5 million mt.
