Bayi Steel to supply steel products to international automobile sector

Chinese steel giant Baosteel Group has announced that its Xinjiang-based subsidiary, Chinese steelmaker Bayi Iron and Steel Co. (Bayi Steel) has been approved by international automobile association FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) for the supply of steel products to international automobile sector.

Bayi Steel's B550L and B510L grade automobile beam steel output reached 50,000 mt in 2009 with a massive production at the beginning of the year. In September 2009, the steelmaker had also trial production for DC04 grade low carbon steel for automobile inner plate production.
