On March 25, Shanghai-based Chinese steel giant Baosteel announced that it has signed a contract for long-term supply of steel scrap from Shanghai-based CSSC Logistics Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Co. (CSSC).

CSSC Logistics Co. was established in August last year, mainly for selling and processing waste and scrap materials generated by the shipbuilding activities of CSSC. It has two scrap processing bases in Shanghai. The scrap supply deal is expected to result in improved scrap quality, greater transportation efficiency and lower management costs.
