Shanghai-based Chinese steel giant Baosteel has announced that it has developed easy-welding ultra-high-strength Q890CFD and BWELDY1100QL2 grades of steel plate. This is the first production in China of the steel plates in question, which can be used in the manufacture of coal mining machinery.

Q890CFD grade steel plate can be substituted for Q690CFD steel plate, enabling a 15 percent reduction in product weight.
