Chinese steel giant Baosteel Group has announced that it has successfully produced X60 HFW (high frequency welded) pipes with wall thickness of 20.6 mm, becoming the first Chinese steelmaker to manufacture HFW welded pipes with wall thickness exceeding 20 mm.

The company has recently received an order from China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) for the product in question. Under the contract, Baosteel was required to complete production and shipment within 18 days. With the coordination of its hot rolled plant, its manufacturing management department and its international trade section, Baosteel has succeeded in completing the contract, with product quality conforming to the required standard.
