Baosteel combines production capacities

Shanghai based steel producer Baosteel Group announced that it is planning to unify its stainless bar and stainless wire rod productions with a new 350'000 tons wire rod rolling mini-mill located in Puxi, west of Shanghai. The unified capacity is expected to reach 2.5 million tons in 2004. Baosteel which focuses on China's domestic market, also produces 1 million tons of special steel annually.
