Azovstal, the steel producing subsidiary of Ukrainian mining and steel producing group Metinvest Holding, has received a certificate of compliance with the Russian Federation standard of system quality management GOST P ISO 9001-2001.

The receipt of the certificate will allow Azovtal to considerably increase the range of its products present in the Russian market.

The scope of certificate covers steel plate made from low alloy steel, which is used for the production of electro-welded pipes. The certificate also allows Azovstal to participate in tenders held by Russian pipe producers for supply of plates.

In addition, Azovstal has announced that in the near future it plans to undertake an audit for compliance with the OHSAS international standard of system quality management.
