Average second-grade coke price in China up 3.6 percent in early August

In early August (August 1-10) this year, the average prices in China of coking coal and second-grade metallurgical coke were recorded at RMB 1,047.5/mt ($157.3/mt) and RMB 1,745.4/mt ($262.2/mt), increasing by RMB 17.5/mt ($2.6/mt) and RMB 61.4/mt ($9.2/mt), compared to prices in late July (July 21-31), i.e., up 1.7 percent and 3.6 percent respectively , as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on August 14.
