In late March (March 21-30) this year, the average prices of 16-25 mm HRB400 rebar, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipe and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 3,256.8/mt ($532.16/mt), RMB 3,453.3/mt ($564.26/mt), RMB 4,290.7/mt ($701.1/mt), and RMB 3,503.0/mt ($572.39/mt), down RMB 3.4/mt ($0.56/mt), RMB 4.4/mt ($0.72/mt), RMB 35.5/mt ($5.8/mt) and RMB 12.7/mt ($2.08/mt), indicating respective declines of 0.1 percent, 0.1 percent, 0.8 percent and 0.4 percent compared to prices in mid-March (Mar. 11-20), as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics on April 4.
In addition, in the late March period, average prices of 6.5 mm HPB300 wire rod and 20 mm Q235 common medium plates were standing at RMB 3,281.9/mt ($536.3/mt) and RMB 3,467.4/mt ($566.6/mt), up RMB 7.9/mt ($1.29/mt) and RMB 2.3/mt ($0.38/mt), with respective increases of 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent compared to the average price levels for mid-March.
