In early August (August 1-10) this year, the average prices in
China of 16-25 mm HRB 400
rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300
wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium
plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 2,459.2/mt ($370.4/mt), RMB 2,519.2/mt ($379.4/mt), RMB 2,659.4/mt ($400.5/mt), RMB 2,779.9/mt ($418.7/mt), RMB 3,067.4 /mt ($462.0/mt) and RMB 2,651.5/mt ($399.3/mt), up RMB 68.1/mt ($10.3/mt), RMB 67.9/mt ($10.2/mt), RMB 74.1/mt ($11.2/mt), RMB 69.0/mt ($10.4/mt), RMB 107.6/mt ($16.2/mt) and RMB 62.4/mt ($9.4/mt), up 2.8 percent, 2.8 percent, 2.9 percent, 2.5 percent, 3.6 percent and 2.4 percent, respectively, all compared to prices in late July (July 21-31) this year, as announced by
China’s National Bureau of Statistics on August 15.
