In June this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 8.6 percent year on year and were down by 2.1 percent month on month to 83,658 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by seven percent year on year and were up by 0.5 percent month on month to 66,164 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 14.4 percent year on year and were down by 10.8 percent month on month to 17,494 units.
Meanwhile, in the first half of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 8.6 percent year on year, amounting to 401,158 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 9.6 percent to 305,924 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 5.1 percent to 95,234 units, both on year-on-year basis.
