In July this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 40.6 percent year on year and were down by 1.6 percent month on month to 82,297 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased by 36.9 percent year on year and were down by 5.7 percent month on month to 62,384 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 53.6 percent year on year and were up by 13.8 percent month on month to 19,913 units.
Meanwhile, in the January-July period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 2.8 percent year on year, amounting to 483,455 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 4.1 percent to 368,308 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 1.6 percent to 115,147 units, both on year-on-year basis.
