Auto demand in Turkey up 40 percent in June

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 94,249 units, decreasing by 17.15 percent month on month and up 39.9 percent year on year. In May, new motor vehicle registrations had increased by 13.7 percent compared to the previous month
 
New passenger car registrations in June totaled 43,434 units, declining by 23.2 percent as compared to the previous month and up 28.56 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 46.1 percent of total registrations. Small truck registrations in June, meanwhile, decreased by 13.6 percent month on month and were up 14.6 percent year on year, amounting to 16,486 units. Small truck registrations constituted 17.5 percent of total registrations.
 
In the January-June period of this year, new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 633,760 units.
