German plantmaker SMS Meer has announced that Austria-based special steel producer Stahl Judenburg has successfully commissioned a bright steel center supplied by SMS Meer.

The recently commissioned peeling machine produces bright steel bars within the 14 to 54 mm diameter range. Combined with a straightening and polishing machine, the SMS Meer plant meets strict straightness and surface quality requirements.

At the new bright steel center, Stahl Judenburg will produce bars for the motor and plant engineering sectors of the automotive industry. This is the second SMS Meer plant of its kind operated by the company.
