In August this year, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland decreased 6.1 percent month on month and were up 56.8 percent year on year, totaling 236,072 metric tons, according to Port Hedland Port Authority.
According to the released information, China was the only export destination for manganese ore shipments from Port Hedland in August. Manganese ore shipments made from Port Hedland to China amounted to 236,072 metric tons in August, increasing by 268.9 percent year on year and up 10.2 percent as compared to July.
Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
