Australia’s Downer to supply rolling stock for BHP Billiton

Australian engineering firm Downer EDI Limited (Downer) has announced that it will supply rolling stock worth $400 million for the Australian miner BHP Billiton in the Pilbara region, Western Australia, for the next five years.
 
According to the statement, the first new locomotives are expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2012. The locomotive and its systems are designed and built by EMD, a company owned by mining equipment manufacturer Caterpillar.
