Australia's Antidumping Commission has announced that it has started an exemption inquiry regarding the antidumping and countervailing duties on zinc-coated steel imports from China, South Korea and Taiwan.

The exemption is requested on the claims that there is no Australian producer of like or directly competitive goods to the exemption goods.

Antidumping and countervailing duties were originally imposed in August 2013. Zinc-coated steel imports from China, South Korea and Taiwan are subject to dumping duty and imports from China are subject to countervailing duty. A number of exporters are exempt from the duties.
