Australia's Antidumping Commission has announced that it has completed its exemption inquiry regarding the antidumping and countervailing duties on zinc-coated steel imports from China and South Korea. Antidumping measures in the form of a dumping duty notice and a countervailing duty notice were initially imposed on aluminum zinc-coated steel by public notice on August 5, 2013.
As a result of the inquiry, the commission stated that the goods will be exempted from duties, based on a finding that like or directly competitive goods are not offered for sale in Australia to all purchasers on equal terms.
The duties are applicable to all exporters from China and South Korea, except aluminum zinc-coated steel that is painted or pre-painted, unchromated products of aluminum zinc-coated steel exported from South Korea only, exports from South Korea by Union Steel Co. Ltd, and exports from China by Angang Steel Company Limited.
