Australia ups nickel exports in 2007

According to the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in 2007 Australia increased its nickel exports by 32.3 percent to $8.5 billion, compared with $6.4 billion in 2006.

During last year Australia exported its nickel products mostly to China, the European Union and Japan.
 
Most of the exported nickel products originated from Western Australia, and included smelted ingots, nickel rods and bars, and more highly processed nickel products.
