Atlas Iron to decide on Mt Webber iron ore mine by end of June

Australia-based iron ore miner Atlas Iron Limited has announced that it expects to decide whether to build a new iron ore mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia by the end of June. The company said that it has received the final environmental approvals for Mt Webber, the new mine development.

Atlas is also on track to reach an annualized production rate of 10 million mt of iron ore during the September quarter with the successful progress of its near-term development projects. Furthermore, with mine production at its existing mine projects at Pardoo, Mt Dove and Wodgina progressing well, the company is on track to ship 2.2 million mt during the June quarter.
