Specialty metals producer ATI Allegheny Ludlum has announced it will raise prices for its stainless steel sheet and strip products. Effective with shipments beginning on May 22, 2006, prices for most stainless steel hot and cold rolled sheet and strip, as well as continuous mill plate products, will increase by approximately 6 percent. The increase will be achieved by reducing the functional discount by 2 percent. The company will also increase extras for polish finish and its patented Kool Line finish by 10 percent. According to the company's news release, the increases are needed "to support continued growth and investment in our business." ATI Allegheny Ludlum produces stainless steels, grain-oriented silicon steels, titanium, tool steels, and high performance alloys for the flat rolled markets. The company's headquarters are in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
