ATI Ludlum announces surcharge

Leechberg, Pennsylvania-based ATI Allegheny Ludlum Corporation announced June 16, 2005 they will begin adding a surcharge to all orders of silicon electrical steel. Beginning July 1, 2005, all invoices will carry a surcharge of $235 per ton ($11.75/cwt). ATI says the surcharges are necessary to offset changes in raw material costs. ATI was unable to give SteelOrbis an estimate as to how long the surcharge will remain in effect. Allegheny Ludlum is a producer and marketer of specialty materials including stainless steels, silicon electrical steels, tool steels, titanium, nickel alloys, as well as other advanced alloys.
