Argentinian industrial production declines nearly 6 percent in August

Argentinian industrial output in August declined 5.7 percent, year-on-year, according to figures released by the country’s statistics agency, Indec.
 
As for the accumulated period of January to August, the country’s industrial production fell 4.2 percent, year-on-year.
 
Industrial output at the automotive segment decreased 7.2 percent in August, year-on-year, and 12.6 percent in the January-August period, year-on-year.
 
According to a qualitative survey, which measured the expectancies of the nation’s industrial companies for the period of September to November 2016 on a year-on-year basis, 54.3 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand in the period, while 24.6 percent foresee a decrease and 21.1 percent anticipate an increase in domestic demand.
 
Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 51.2 percent expect a stable September-November quarter, on a year-on-year basis. However, 28.1 percent expect an increase and 20.7 percent a decline in the industry’s exports in the same period.
